Yanyi Huang
Full-stack engineer · exploring quantitative finance
CQF candidate · expected July 2026I write code, ship systems, and learn in public on this blog. After years across the stack—frontend, backend, DevOps, and big data—I am focusing on quantitative work: data, models, and markets.
Where I have been
I started as a full-stack developer: React and Node on the web, APIs and databases behind the scenes. At Dell and later startups I built products end to end—from UI to deployment.
Operations and platform became a major thread at Autodesk: CI/CD on AWS, Jenkins and Spinnaker, Docker, and the glue scripts (Python, Shell, Ruby) that keep releases predictable.
Big data and analytics showed up at ZhongAn and FWD—Kafka, Hive, HBase, ETL pipelines, and dashboards that turn messy insurance and business data into something teams can act on. At GLP I also worked on computer vision and data quality for ML.
Quantitative finance is the direction now: backtesting and data platforms at Datayes, ongoing CQF study, and Python for analysis, risk, and systematic thinking. Math undergrad plus CS graduate school is the foundation; industry experience is the lab.
